What it is

The editor where you write what actually gets sent.

Why use it

Nothing sends until steps exist and are published.

Steps

1. Press Add email step or Add SMS step.
2. Choose when: straight away, after a wait, or at a time of day in the customer’s own timezone.
3. Write the subject and message. Use the Insert buttons for first name and company.
4. Set quiet hours in the panel on the right.
5. Press Publish version.

Merge field

A placeholder like {{contact.firstName}} replaced with the real value when sending. If it is empty, nothing is shown rather than the placeholder.

What happens next

A three-day wait is held in the database, not in memory. Restarting the server or deploying does not lose it. The message still goes at the right minute.

Common problems

It will not let me publish.

The issues are listed above the steps as you type. Usually an empty message or a missing subject on an email step.

SMS steps have no subject field.

Text messages do not have subjects. Switching a step to SMS removes it.
